Wine tasting in Stellenbosch

Wine & Safari in Cape Winelands

Begin your Wine and Safari tour to Stellenbosch, with pickup from the accommodation in Cape Town, and board an air-conditioned vehicle. Enjoy a 45-minute scenic drive through the South African countryside.

Meander your way past the rolling hills of the Cape Winelands, admire the century-old Cape Dutch architecture, and marvel at the lush green valleys surrounded by jagged mountains along the wine route of Cape Town.

Upon arrival at the Stellenbosch wine farm, take your seat in the wine tasting room, to enjoy a fun and educational wine-tasting experience. This is a tasting of the winery's popular wines and include two Cap Classiques, two white wines, and two red wines, opt, to taste four different Cap Classiques (sparkling wine), beautifully paired with handcrafted nougat. Safari through Wildlfe Conservation 

Spend about two hours in the company of a knowledgeable guide as you trek through the rocky plains in a 4x4 off-road vehicle. Begin your journey with a brief farm tour through the vineyards and learn about the wine farms substantial conservation projects.

You're guaranteed to see fantastic sightings with a diverse population animals– everything from springbuck, kudu, giraffe, eland, black wildebeasst and zebra to name a few – there are also 12 dams, which draw plenty of bird-life to the farm.

About the winery in Stellenbosch 

The wine farm is a family-run winery in the Stellenbosch region of South Africa. They are a pioneering quality wine company committed to preserving the environment and have been rewarded with membership to the Biodiversity of Wine Initiative. They specialise in Cap Classique and have a strong reputation for Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. 

In conjunction with two neighbors (The Cape Garden Centre and Wild Clover Farm)  220ha of land was set aside as a wildlife sanctuary in 2009.
It includes 12 dams plus marsh areas which attract a huge variety of bird life. Indigenous trees are grown in old milk containers, and plastic water bottles by their staff and then bought from them when a year old and planted out. Thousands of indigenous trees have also been donated by the Cape Garden Centre. To date, well over 100 000 trees have been planted.

Several mammals have been introduced in the Wildlife Sanctuary: Springbuck, Kudu, Giraffe, Bontebok, Eland, Gemsbok, Black Wildebeest, Bush Pig, Burchell's Zebra, common Duiker, Steenbuck, Waterbuck, and Grysbok.

The Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Koelenhof and access is gained through the vineyards. A game drive through the 220 hectares lasts approximately two hours.
