Cape Town City Excursion – Table Mountain, Penguins & Wine

Cape Town, South Africa

Overview

This full-day Cape Town shore excursion strings together the city's most iconic landmarks in a single, well-paced day. Your journey begins aboard the 360-degree rotating cable car to the top of Table Mountain, where sweeping views of the city and coastline set the tone. A short stop at AfroGems offers a glimpse into South Africa's world-renowned gemstones before you continue along Chapman's Peak Drive, one of the most scenic coastal routes in the world.

From there, you'll visit the charming African penguin colony at Boulders Beach in Simon's Town, then end the day in the historic Constantia Valley at Groot Constantia Wine Farm. Here you can stroll through South Africa's oldest wine estate and enjoy a curated tasting of exceptional local wines (guests must be 18 or older; ID may be required under South African law). The day runs approximately 8–9 hours, departing at 8:00 a.m. aligned to your ship's arrival and returning by 5:00 p.m. from the designated pickup area at the V&A Waterfront cruise terminal known as Markers Landing. Allow at least 45 minutes from docking to clear the terminal.

Included are transfers with vehicle and fuel, an expert English-speaking guide, and Chapman's Peak Drive toll fees. Entry fees are not included in this package and can be pre-paid or paid on-site, and meals, beverages, the Groot Constantia museum tour and wine tastings, and gratuities are all for your own account. Fitness level is moderate, with some walking and light stair climbing; wheelchair access is available at most major sites, and the Table Mountain cableway makes the summit easy to reach. Note that any tickets included in a booking are non-refundable, and if your tour falls during the cable car's annual maintenance period (usually July–August), a local highlight or alternative activity will be arranged instead.
