Tsitsikamma Pristine indigenous forest & dramatic coastal tour
Overview
This full-day Tsitsikamma tour takes you into one of South Africa's most dramatic coastal landscapes, where the Garden Route turns wild. You'll explore pristine indigenous forest, marvel at the ancient Big Tree, cross the spectacular suspension bridge over the Storms River, and take in sweeping ocean and gorge views. The experience continues with an adventure into the heart of the Storms River Gorge, followed by a relaxed lunch and time to soak up the region's natural beauty — a seamless blend of soft adventure, scenery, and authentic local charm for travellers who want more than just a sightseeing tour.
The day begins with round-trip collection from your hotel, lodge, harbour, or selected locations in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and along the Garden Route, meeting at 8:30 a.m. and returning between roughly 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. depending on traffic and time spent at each stop. Cruise guests should allow about 45 minutes after docking for customs and terminal clearance before meeting their guide. Fitness level is moderate — the walk to the suspension bridge involves uneven terrain and steps, which makes it challenging for wheelchair users or guests with limited mobility, though the main facilities are accessible.
Included are transfers with vehicle and fuel, an expert English-speaking guide, daily conservation fees for the Big Tree and Tsitsikamma National Park, and complimentary bottled water on board. Lunch and beverages are for your own account, with a choice between Cattle Baron for premium seaside dining inside the national park or Marilyn's 60s Diner, a retro spot in the village with classic cars and vintage memorabilia (both subject to availability). Gratuities and adventure activities such as kayaking, ziplining, and boat cruises are also not included and can be added as optional extras.
