Did you know?

 Hunting for ivory started in the early 1700's and by the 1900 most of the remaining addo wildlife were completely exterminated. Only 12 addo elephant remained before the Addo Elephant National Park was proclaimed in 1931, with an area size of 2000 hectares. 

The Addo elephant number has grown since and now has over 600 elephant. The elephant that you will see in the Addo are the descendants from the herds of elephant that once freely roamed the eastern and southern cape.




Full Day in Addo Elephant Park

Port Elizabeth to Addo Elephant Park

After getting picked up from your accommodation in Port Elizabeth, board an air-conditioned vehicle and enjoy a 35-minute scenic drive through the South African countryside to reach Addo Elephant National Park.

Upon arrival at the park, begin your game drive. Spot animals such as the Big 5, zebras, warthogs and antelopes. Your local guide will stop the vehicle when animals are spotted. During the drive, stop to stretch your legs at a lookout point where you can enjoy spectacular views of the park.

After working up an appetite, head to the north of Addo to enjoy lunch served with choice of alcoholic beverage or cold drink, then continue your safari, learning more about the animals and area from your guide. Head back to your accommodation in the late afternoon.
